Story
XPeng grew on-call response faster than the local tools around it. From China, consumer discretionary teams still had to serve customers and internal partners who expected a straight answer. On-call rotations were the ones stitching the picture together by hand.
Rolling out Elasticsearch put incident management on Elastic. Elastic builds search, observability, and security software on Elasticsearch, used to find information and investigate operational data. XPeng keeps the product in the path where work already happens, so on-call rotations do not context-switch into a graveyard system used only for audits.
The visible result is steadier incident management. On-call response is easier to inspect, and adjacent groups can join on-call rotations without a guided tour of someone's desktop.
