Allbirds did not need another dashboard that nobody opened. It needed record to report to move. In the United States, controllers and shared services already knew where financial close went wrong: too many copies, too little ownership, and a close process that waited on the loudest inbox.
Sage Copilot from Sage is now in that path. Sage provides accounting, ERP, and HR software used by small and midsize businesses to run finance and operations. The company treats it as production tooling for record to report, which is why controllers and shared services live in it rather than exporting from it once a quarter.
Allbirds can show how financial close is handled today. That is the value: a repeatable way to run record to report on software the rest of the industry already recognizes.
