Story
Inside Visa, identity operations used to depend on whoever still had the latest file. That pattern is common in financials groups working out of the United States. IAM and helpdesk needed a system that would still make sense after the original project team moved on.
Visa uses FortiSASE from Fortinet as the working layer for access control. Fortinet delivers network and security fabric products, including next-generation firewalls and secure access, for distributed enterprises. The practical change is simple: identity operations has a home, and reviews happen there instead of in a forwarded thread.
Nothing in this writeup invents a savings number. What Visa gets from Fortinet is a durable place to run identity operations and a way for IAM and helpdesk to see the same access control at the same time.
