RWERWE Uses E3D for Operations Visibility
RWE, a utilities organization in Germany, uses E3D from AVEVA to support plant and field operations for operations engineers.
E3D became the place RWE uses to see live equipment and project status instead of lagging reports.
“Inside RWE, plant and field operations used to depend on whoever still had the latest file.”
“Operations engineers needed a system that would still make sense after the original project team moved on.”

Story
Inside RWE, plant and field operations used to depend on whoever still had the latest file. That pattern is common in utilities groups working out of Germany. Operations engineers needed a system that would still make sense after the original project team moved on.
RWE uses E3D from AVEVA as the working layer for operations visibility. AVEVA, part of Schneider Electric, provides industrial software for engineering, operations, and real-time data, including the PI System. The practical change is simple: plant and field operations has a home, and reviews happen there instead of in a forwarded thread.
Nothing in this writeup invents a savings number. What RWE gets from AVEVA is a durable place to run plant and field operations and a way for operations engineers to see the same operations visibility at the same time.
