Story
Inside Pinnacle West, cloud security review used to depend on whoever still had the latest file. That pattern is common in utilities groups working out of the United States. Cloud security engineers needed a system that would still make sense after the original project team moved on.
Pinnacle West uses Auth0 from Okta as the working layer for cloud misconfigurations. Okta is an identity platform for workforce and customer authentication, single sign-on, and lifecycle management. The practical change is simple: cloud security review has a home, and reviews happen there instead of in a forwarded thread.
Nothing in this writeup invents a savings number. What Pinnacle West gets from Okta is a durable place to run cloud security review and a way for cloud security engineers to see the same cloud misconfigurations at the same time.
