Story
Inside Heineken, digital commerce used to depend on whoever still had the latest file. That pattern is common in consumer staples groups working out of the Netherlands. Ecommerce and payments teams needed a system that would still make sense after the original project team moved on.
Heineken uses Stripe Connect from Stripe as the working layer for online checkout. Stripe is a payments and financial infrastructure platform that companies use to accept cards, run subscriptions, and move money. The practical change is simple: digital commerce has a home, and reviews happen there instead of in a forwarded thread.
Nothing in this writeup invents a savings number. What Heineken gets from Stripe is a durable place to run digital commerce and a way for ecommerce and payments teams to see the same online checkout at the same time.
