GenslerGensler Brings Product Design onto Autodesk
Gensler, an industrials organization in the United States, uses Revit from Autodesk to support engineering design for design engineers.
Gensler folded Revit into engineering design so design engineers share one view of product design.
“Design engineers needed a system that would still make sense after the original project team moved on.”
“Autodesk makes design and make software for architecture, engineering, construction, and manufacturing, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Fusion.”

Story
Inside Gensler, engineering design used to depend on whoever still had the latest file. That pattern is common in industrials groups working out of the United States. Design engineers needed a system that would still make sense after the original project team moved on.
Gensler uses Revit from Autodesk as the working layer for product design. Autodesk makes design and make software for architecture, engineering, construction, and manufacturing, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Fusion. The practical change is simple: engineering design has a home, and reviews happen there instead of in a forwarded thread.
Nothing in this writeup invents a savings number. What Gensler gets from Autodesk is a durable place to run engineering design and a way for design engineers to see the same product design at the same time.
