Story
Inside Embraer, engineering design used to depend on whoever still had the latest file. That pattern is common in industrials groups working out of Brazil. Design engineers needed a system that would still make sense after the original project team moved on.
Embraer uses E3D from AVEVA as the working layer for product design. AVEVA, part of Schneider Electric, provides industrial software for engineering, operations, and real-time data, including the PI System. The practical change is simple: engineering design has a home, and reviews happen there instead of in a forwarded thread.
Nothing in this writeup invents a savings number. What Embraer gets from AVEVA is a durable place to run engineering design and a way for design engineers to see the same product design at the same time.
