Story
Diageo did not need another dashboard that nobody opened. It needed data platform operations to move. In the United Kingdom, data engineers already knew where analytics hosting went wrong: too many copies, too little ownership, and a close process that waited on the loudest inbox.
GitHub Copilot from Microsoft Azure is now in that path. Microsoft Azure is a public cloud platform for infrastructure, data, AI, and application services used by enterprises to host and modernize workloads. The company treats it as production tooling for data platform operations, which is why data engineers live in it rather than exporting from it once a quarter.
Diageo can show how analytics hosting is handled today. That is the value: a repeatable way to run data platform operations on software the rest of the industry already recognizes.
